Supporting the ISCE...

Captain Scott was one of the great Naval heroes of the 20th century; with this in mind I am delighted to support the Expedition and their campaign to raise public awareness, not only of the achievements of Scott and his team, but also of his continuing legacy and relevance in the modern era.

Polar Fun in the Library

The latest ISCE/ETE Polar Fun Days were covered in a colourful article in today's Plymouth Herald. They wre held in conjunction with Plymouth City Council in libraries across Plymouth.

As usual the kids were able to get hands-on with games and activities designed to teach them about the science conducted in the Polar regions, the animals that live in these remote corners of the world and how geographical features such as glaciers have a huge effect worldwide. Whilst being a 'Pole lotta fun' the Polar Fun Days are also accredited by the Children's University.

Polar Fun Days have been organised as part of the education and outreach work of the ISCE in advance of next year's centenary of the death of one of Plymouth's greatest heroes, Captain RF Scott RN, and aim to reconnect a generation with the legacy of his inspiring Polar work.
