THE LEADBITTER “BREAKING THE ICE” NETWORKING EVENT AT MOUNT WISE
The ISCE held a hugely successful networking evening at the Leadbitter 'Breaking the Ice' event at Mount Wise on 2 June 2011. Many prominent figures from Plymouth and beyond were present including the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Plymouth, the CEO's of major South-West companies, representatives of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, local MPs, descendants from Captain Scott's expeditions and many supporting sponsors of the ISCE, ETE and the BSAE, which are collaborating together under the banner of the 'Spirit of Scott Expeditions 2012'.
The event was held to launch the Plymouth Scott 100 weekend being held in the City to commemorate the centenary of the famous birthday dinner held at Cape Evans on 6 June 1911 for our famous native son of Plymouth, Captain Robert Falcon Scott. A large conference was then held over the weekend with over 200 people in attendance and a grand dinner on 6 June 2012 was held by the Royal Navy at HMS Drake, concluding the Plymouth birthday centenary events.
