Supporting the ISCE...

The plan to commemorate Scott's centenary and the death of the Polar Party is a noble and fitting tribute. I support the efforts of the team at ISCE and wish them all the very best for their plans in Antarctica in 2012.

More Polar Fun Days...

On 17th March, we spent a morning at Alderman Knight School in Gloucestershire.

Amongst the many hands-on activities, we inspired the students with the story of Captain Scott and his importance in science and exploration today. They were also excited by our plans for the International Scott Centenary Expedition.

With the ISCE leader, Antony Jinman present, children were able to gain a true understanding of Captain Scott, many of whom were not aware of his heroic story before our visit.

From Antarctica to the Arctic, the team also shared their experiences of Baffin Island and the North Pole, and allowed students to gain an understanding of Arctic indigenous communities by creating their own pieces of Inuit Art.

We love inspiring the kids about the Polar Regions and they love to be inspired! It was a great morning, and thanks to the school for their fantastic participation.
